Beaumanor
Hi Guys the best I can come up with for Sunday is come off the M1 at Junc 23 from either the North or South take the A512 towards Loughborough then take the first right which is Snells Nook Lane and I will meet you there at 0830 with the passes I will not have the Porsche but will be in a silver Vauxhall Vectra No: Y412 PJM. see you Sunday

Re: Beaumanor
Excellent.
Bodyshop has just confirmed my car is ready so I will see you there. I will program the location into my SatNav and let the dippy woman who lives therein guide me to you.
I'll be in a Guards Red 944 S2 No. G939D**

Re: Beaumanor
Just to follow up on Daves post, You will be turning right into Snells Nook Road from a dual carraigeway so get over to the right early. There is a BP service station on that corner as a landmark, you will turn right in front of it.
Also Snells Nook Road is a bit of a narrow road so you may have to drive down a fair way to find somewhere suitable to stop.
Enjoy!

Re: Beaumanor
Sorry to be a pain but as I'm local......
you'll struggle to find somewhere to park on that lane.
so options are
1) The Priory pub car park, Nanpanton
2) J23 Head for Shepshed. 100m on Left, lay-by with burger van.
I would suggest option 2 for obvious reasons

Re: Beaumanor
Fair enough... my only decision is now "leave at the crack of dawn" or compromise my "no motorways" principle.

According to lunatic SatNav lady,
Fastest route: 132 miles 2 hrs 12 mins
"No Motorway" route: 128 miles 3 hrs 13 mins
Food for thought.
Re: Beaumanor
That's a pessimistic forecast!
AccuWeather (who I find reasonably "accu" most of the time) have Loughborough as "a couple of showers".
Specifically dry up until 8am, some showers until about 10:30 and then dry until we see some early afternoon showers around 1pm and then clear from 2pm until 5pm.
Might be OK!

I am glad you said that... 'cos it made me think "Oh good, means I won't be getting towed out of muddy field by a tractor" which led onto the thought "where is the towing eye for the '44 anyway?" which led to the thought "in the factory toolkit" which then led to realisation that it "wasn't in the car".
Now rectified.
Re: Beaumanor
So you don't have to worry about the wet, its the fact that its blowing a hoolie thats the problem.Lord Chris wrote:WE have had loads of rain, but thanks to the wind, things are bone dry
