Re: I've done it.
The winning bidder has still not contacted me so have opened a cancel transaction.
Kept telling ebay that the winning bidder had 24 hours to contact me to arrange collection and to pay a 10% deposit which he agreed to when he bidded.
ebay are saying he has 7 days.
had a long debate with them on the phone and agreed i was right but i still had to comply with thier rules????
got to wait 7 days now to see if the winning bidder agrees to the cancelation.

Re: I've done it.
This is exactly why eBay has such a bad reputation. At least 50% of the users should not be allowed to use the Internet unsupervised because they are *bonking* idiots.

Re: I've done it.
Agree with you there. If he agrees to cancel or he does not reply in 7 days then the case is closed but if he still wants it and I refuse then i get done.
Re: I've done it.
I assume it's the original buyer who hasn't responded yet and the £1600 buyer is ready and waiting? I sold a mountain bike and had the same. i knew the winner wasn't going to contact as he was miles away so I just carried on and sold it while eBay did their p***ing about.
Re: I've done it.
Ah well. Just gives you more time to find the perfect replacement I guess.

Re: I've done it.
Would you believe it. Filed a cancel transaction request due to no contact from the winning bidder, within 20 minutes he's calling me to ask why
I explained why and he agreed. Sorted out like true men

Re: I've done it.
Well, if he didnt agree you could have told him the head gasket just went and given him my thread to read. That would have sent him packing !
Nice to hear its sorted!

Coolio! So you have a not insubstantial sum of pound notes to spunk on something completely unsuitable.

Re: I've done it.
I would probably avoid a Jag if you are on a budget. Yes, they are usually reliable, but when something does let go ...............
Hyundai Coupe is a surprisingly capable car. Obviously the V6 is the most fun, but then you will get the running costs as well.
Mark 1 Vec would be my choice. Very comfortable, very sporty if you buy a 2 litre SRI and parts are as cheap as. Cheap to buy too as they are no longer fashionable. Reckon you would get a really nice clean one for less than a grand. Don't buy a mark 2 though pleeeaase! The most soul sucking drab car ever created by Vauxhall.

Re: I've done it.
Think i would have trouble getting in to that!
Agree with what you say about the jag. Know the vectra mark 2's are terrible but i like the look of the mark 3's and the coupe mark 2 are different but nice
Just want something cheaper on tax and insurance and better on fuel than the 19 mpg I'm getting on the saab
Re: I've done it.
Vectra mk1 is the best Vectra by far. My 2ltr Sri returned 32mpg towing the boat back from north Wales. Returned 43mpg driving up there to collect the boat. Did home to Donington (near Tux) and back on £15.
Re: I've done it.
OOHH! Not keen on the colour, but other than that I likey the Aixam! tux wanty!
Andy, what is a MK3 Vectra? I thought they only did 2??

Re: I've done it.
To be honest the old MK 3 cavi was the MK 1 Vectra. Mine is a MK 2 but we in this country call them a MK 1 the one our carrot crunching friend is talking about is a MK 3 but we in this country call them a mk2. Confused you will be.
Re: I've done it.
Astra was way better than the Vectra having run a fleet with 400 of each. As Rob says the original Vectra was just a re-hash of the Cavalier and always felt creaky whereas the Mk4 Astra launched in 98 was all new and very good. I has a fully loaded 2.0 as my company car and it was fab.
