£56 + vat for a rear wheel bearing!
Just rang the garage and that's what they want to charge. Even Porscheshop are £42 including Vat. They are only charging for 2 hrs labour which I was expecting to be longer but still
Off down there now. Hopefully it's passed the MOT too

And all they did was order a bearing from Porscheshop and put there bit on top.
At least it's another years ticket.

Yep sometimes you just have to bite the bullet to get the ticket. Every year mine was reported as have uneven brake balance ... how could I argue! £50 later it had a ticket!
Re: £56 + vat for a rear wheel bearing!
Rear brake balance was the only thing mine ever failed on, but that was only once. Other than that it flew through the test every year.
As you say, you can't really argue, so you just have to play the game. Still cheap motoring in the grand scheme of things.

Sore subject at the moment .... Picasso has a broken dual mass flywheel, goosed air conditioning pump and while the flywheel is being fitted might as well have a new clutch fitted. £1,100 and that is at £35 per hour local mechanic rates Zafira is with a diesel specialist as it won't start.
Only reliable cars in the house are 20 and 25 years old respectively!

It's a Citroen, that's the problem!!!
On a serious note, that really sucks. £1100 on a very nearly new car is a crime in anyones book.

Well not nearly new at all ... 05 plate with 70,000 on it. We paid £4,500 for it so I guess a big bill now and again is better than depreciation on a new car!
Re: £56 + vat for a rear wheel bearing!
the dual mass fly wheels seem to be a problem on alot of the cars in that age range?
Re: £56 + vat for a rear wheel bearing!
That's some bill, gutter
I'll stop winging about my £56 then.

Why did I think it was new?
I guess when you look at it like that, then it isn't so bad. Still a bit painfull when you look at your bank balance though.
