Sat on the seafront eating chips in the 24 with the misses. Her first trip in the car

I like this pic. One for next years calendar methinks. Assuming there will be a next years calendar of course.

She didn't say much but quietly observed. Smiled when the electric aerial popped up. Quiet approval I suspect.
One of my colleagues at work raved about it, was positively foaming at the mouth. Kept opening and closing the passenger door saying 'listen to that quality'

Great pics.
We use mine as family car. My missus has a brand new Mazda 2 but always maintains the toofah is much more comfortable than the Mazda.
In Londinium at the moment with her and both kids ... Yep, we used the 924 to get here.

You do some miles in yours Ian you'll be catching up that Felix chap on the 924 OC forum!
Re: 1st pleasure trip - the local beach
Funny ... I enjoyed owning one and working on it (nice not to find rust too often on an old car) but never really enjoyed driving it. A bit too heavy and stodgy. As soon as I tried the GTI again I knew the 24 days were over for me.

I believe cars are for driving. Never owned a garage queen. I've stuck 40,000 on the Boxster since buying in 2010.
The 924 seems a reliable beast by nature. If I get 2-3 years of (nearly) every day motoring out of her, I'll be dizzy with happiness!
I love taking the '24 places. Generates conversation and turns heads wherever we go. The Boxster seems ordinary in comparison and just seems to attract interest from asbo's driving Subaru. My favourite moment was in the week when I picked my daughter up from orchestra. All the lads spotted me pull in the car park and leapt out of their seats. One shouted "look at that car from the olden days!" .... Completely trashed their practice apparently ...

I'd forgotten just how smart they look in white.

Yes really must pull my finger out this year and get the calendar going again, still kick myself for not making one available this year.
I always thought white was great on these cars as well, why I went for a white '44 after the white '24S

As long as the rest of his bits don't go green he should survive.PompeySteve wrote:Your banana is going green at the edges .... never a good sign!
