Well me n the missus went for a 200 mls spin today, the car never missed a beat, bit of a racket going on in the rear when off the gas, any help would be appreciated, fik oil, sawdust maybe ?? not the best looking car in the world and a bit scabby around the edges, but i got what i paid for i reckon. happy days. Very Happy

Check the bolts on the driveshafts ... they have a habit of falling out ... mine only had three on each side at one point!

Just finishing my first of 5 nightshifts Sleep

But yep, what Steve says, check the driveshaft bolts as a first, if you don't have the 12 point spline bit and there are some loose bolts, give me a shout one day and call over I've got a full set in the shed

cheers fellas, but it sounds like whiney box/diff, bolts seem ok, poss old looking leaks, any particular additives recommended by your good selves ??

If its a whiney diff I wouldn't worry too much, they all get like that eventually, just standard 80/90 gearbox oil will do the trick to reduce it but they always whine, some louder than others but it's a trait of the car

Thanks for info, changed the oil , now not as noisy but im confident ive at least tried something and made a little improvement and i know the oil is good n fresh, the gear change is as slick as a winchester rifle, probably not related , just thought id chuck that one in,

So long as the trans oil that came out wasn't think you'll be fine with that, just turn the radio up Laughing
