I Feel Quite Numb
A friend of ours who was 41 went out to work on Tuesday evening, stopped for petrol on the way and then keeled over the steering wheel and had a heart attack on the garage forecourt. Bloke had never had a days illness in his life. Left a wife and two teenage kids behind.
Gives you a terrible sense of mortality.

As they say 'by the grace of God' You never know what's around the next corner.
Re: I Feel Quite Numb
Sad news. It can be a terrible shock when it's a relatively young person like that.

Re: I Feel Quite Numb
Sad news.
Unfortunately its the ones 'never been sick in his life' that it seems so sudden.
In hindsight its the healthy ones that dont visit the doctor for checkups, blood tests etc.
These visits can pick up changes in the body like cholesterol and blood pressure.
Believe me if you are 35 or over, a regular visit once a year doesnt hurt the hip pocket nerve that much.

Re: I Feel Quite Numb
I suppose it would not be fitting to do a "heart attack at the price of petrol" type joke. Sorry to hear the news. A lady I work with has just lost her 2 year old grandson to a house fire, definitely makes you think

The only good news in this story is her daughter and two other grandchildren were rescued.
