Love my new lens..

1st shot is at 70mm. I do not move for all three shots.



2nd shot is at 200mm (Note i have not moved).



3rd shot is also at 200mm but i have cropped the photo.

Must be desperate to get more pics into the local press

No mate i just take my camera everywhere with me so i miss nothing. And the house was not on fire, the wind was blowing the roof off.

Fab detail .... I hate to think how much it cost!! Good cropping job too.

Canon 70-200mm usm f4 L Working well for what i want. Will have to wait for finances to improve to upgrade to the 2.8, I.S, version. Next perchase is the 1.4 tele converter for it.

Depends what you're looking for but I'd not necessarily consider the f/2.8 IS an upgrade. I used to own an f/4L USM and often regret selling it. The f/2.8 is nice enough but it's much larger and heavier. The f/4 was a lens I'd just stick in the camera bag "in case" whilst the f/2.8 is so much bigger that I need to have a definite use in mind before I take it with me.

f/4L plus 1.4x TC works well as long as you're not doing action photography with it. The drop in focus speed caused by adding the TC makes tracking moving subjects marginal and you'll find you'll miss focus on a far larger percentage of shots with the TC attached.
