Silverstone Classic

Anyone else thinking of going along? I just booked my tickets 'cos the "cheap" earlybird discounts run out at the end of this month. I also used the PCGB code to get a further discount and an infield pass, which I think means I have to park up with them and have the Shed pawed over by the proletariat.
I'll be sure to take along some NARP flyers to stick under their wiper blades Probably get me thrown out!
Re: Silverstone Classic
I have now procured a set of furry dice for the Porka. They will be hanging from the rear-view mirror when parked up with PCGB. I predict this will annoy them mightily.

Re: Silverstone Classic
Friday is qualifying day for all the races. The racing takes place on Saturday and Sunday. Friday is, however, the best day for poking around the paddocks and pit garages as things are a bit more relaxed than on "race days". They're using BOTH sets of paddocks and pit lanes at Silverstone this year; the old pit complex and the new Silverstone Wing complex so there will be lots to see.
Looks like Friday is £40 on the gate, Saturday and Sunday are £50 per day.

Whoohoo! Tickets and an infield pass for the shed have arrived. Time to hoover the dust off of the furry dice!

Well I hope for your sake someone turns up. Combe has been rubbish this season with tiny grids and cancelled races the major feature of the year. Last time I was there much grumbling ensued amongst the spectators with dark talk of "not renewing season tickets after 25 years of going" and such like. A pity, 'cos I like Combe.
Re: Silverstone Classic
Shed has been washed after its trundle back from Beaumanor and the covers are on. Now I just need to work out how to get everything in it before rumbling up to Sillystone on Thursday.
Re: Silverstone Classic
Prettiest car at the show (although I may be a bit biased) stuck firmly on the front row of PCGB's display to make a stand for all the front-runners.

Re: Silverstone Classic
That's a pity. It was a good event. I have been told that traffic was chaotic on the Saturday but I didn't see it - I was there early. Other than that it went well.
Re: Silverstone Classic
Very Pretty
Why don't they just copy the beautiful cars of the past instead of things like the new Fiesta or Ka!

Re: Silverstone Classic
That's what I always think. How were we capable of designing the DB4, Daytona & Miura 40 or 50 years ago but now can't make anything that looks distinctive? I watched Top Gear with the new Lambo ... yawn!
