general thoughts
Due to moving to a bigger place, money is now very tight and with doing shift work on a 10 week rolling rota, cant see me getting a part time job.
Cant see me being able to get the Banana on the road to use for the forseeable future.
Am now thinking of getting it MOT'ed and putting 6 months tax on it and putting it up for sale.
I know its not a standard car but was thinking of taking the side decals off as they are very in your face then putting it up for sale in a classic car mag.
Was going to put it in for about 2.5k but know this is probley a bit optimistic but its going to need a certain kind of person to buy it in the first place.

Think it should go straight through, insurance is due on the 6th April and needs tax
just cant afford to run 2 cars after moving upstairs.
would leave it off the road but its just going to rot away.
Saabs in for an mot start of may, if it passes ok then i might be able to afford to get it on the road but will be a struggle to do it and the fact i only done 250 miles in it last year - just alot of money not to be used.
had thought about getting rid of the saab and running the banana as a daily runner but im not confident it would be reliable.
just trying to work out the best way to save money and hopefully get a couple of quid in the bank to buy things for the house

My opinion for what it is worth!
I quite like the side decals - leave them on - easy for a buyer to remove if they really want to.
Reliability - well, depends on what you've done to it I suppose. Although I am rebuilding the entire top end, I still have no illusions that it will be reliable. Every day car it will be - but I only live 10 miles from the office and a breakdown won't bother me.
Could only see a 924 fetching £2.5k if it were totally original, low miles with lots and lots of Porsche stamps. No harm in trying though --- like you say, right person on the right day ...
I say keep it. For what you will get, you won't buy that much furniture. Furniture will always lose you money.

must admit it has only let me down once last year and that was when the starter motor was burnt out from the wiring.
only thing putting me off really with using it everyday is the fact the battery keeps going flat but beleive its cause i never really drive it.
keep spending money doing it up to make it better.
Dont know - just in 4 places at the moment with it

Re: general thoughts
other thing that bugs me is having to keep the banana out on the street, have got a drive way down the back where it is now but the bloke 2 doors up keeps parking at the start of the lane and blocking me in - one of the reasons i didnt drive it much last year as i have to keep knocking on his door and ask him to move it.
have asked him a thousand times to park further down so i can get in and out but he never does!!

Re: general thoughts
Market simply isn't there for non-standard cars Andy. The whole classic market is split between top dollar cars that are either restored (to standard spec) or are low mileage and orginal .... and anything else. I think you are looking at half the price you want for it realistically and that might make you consider it to be better to keep and use it. No reason it can't be reliable and they get much better with regular use.
Re: general thoughts
The 924 market seems a bit fluid at the moment.
"concours" low mileage cars are being offered for upwards of £5k. Good "S" models seem to attract a premium at the £3.5-4k mark whilst decent looking 2.0L cars seem to be in the £1.5-2k range.
"mileage", of course, is always a difficult subject with the 924 (and early 944s) due to the 5 digit odometer. Personally I'd never believe one of these "low mileage" claims without oodles of paperwork to back it up.
