Porsche immobilizers are crap
This is the 2nd Porsche i have had with a standard Porsche immobilizer, and every time it gets really cold the crap thing will not turn off. Need to warm the whole car up somehow so it will work. Can start the car so thats no good. How the hell are you supposed to get to work in the winter months if you can't start the car.
Re: Porsche immobilizers are crap

What Dave said. Doesn't matter who makes them, they are all naff. You will have to use the Chavdeo until it gets warmer!

Re: Porsche immobilizers are crap
Yup. Managed to crank up the '44 yesterday after 14 days of inaction on the driveway. Was pleasantly surprised!
However, I am still amused that my (non-Porsche) immobiliser deems it necessary to disable the horn circuit.

Re: Porsche immobilizers are crap
I made my 'own' Immobilizer for the 924, find the positive feed for the electric fuel pump, (its at the back of the fuse board) break into it, and fit a key-switch, which you then hide somewhere within the dashboard area..... has work a treat for the last 19 years of ownership...

I thought the Fuel Pump relay was the official Porsche immobiliser!
I now have 3 porkas and 1 working FPR
