Goodwood Breakfast Club 4th March

The Breakfast Club morning of Sunday 4th March is

"March 4th - Tax-Free Sunday"

at Goodwood race track near Chichester. That means anything that the government doesn't put their hand into your pocket for on an annual basis will be lined up on the track. Lots of lovely classics to see and the odd tax exempt modern.

The Breakfast Clubs are free entry and the car parks are often as interesting as the stuff lined up at the circuit.

Anyone up for a little southern forum meet up?

Missed this the last time you told me about it so definitely up for it. Will check on dates but would be great to meet a few others on this forum!

Good for you! The cars there last year were mostly pre-73 classics but there were a number of modern tax-free cars there too like some hybrid super-minis and a Tesla or two.

I did want a Nissan Leaf or Mitsubishi imev but they are so expensive. The ideal 2 car garage for me would be one electric for work etc and my 944 for high days and holidays.

Heh... don't think that would work for me. If it went anything like my mobile phone I'd be constantly forgetting to put it on charge! My compromise is a diesel Golf and my 944. At least with the Golf I can drop by the fuel station on the way to work when I have brain-fade about topping up the tank!

Don't get me wrong I don't rely care about the environment but I would prefer not to fuel my car and thus reley on a product of such a potentaly volatile part of the world.
To finish my ideal garage it would be covered in solar panels.

Wow well we could have swum to Goodwood this morning.
But a really good turn out.
We had a bit of a barney with a marshal but a good look at my tax disk got me through to the paddock and under a cover between a Beatle and an old Rolls.






November 4th is continental classics day that would be a good morning out for us.

Was going to go right up to Saturday lunchtime but the weather just looked so crud. Wonder what the theme is next month?

My thoughts exactly .. then it is Supercars (yawn) but Rule Britania in June ... sounds like that will be my visit.
