Just bought a 924S
Well, after around 18 months looking (on and off!) I have finally found a decent 924S (i hope).
I'm off to pick it up this week and will, i'm sure, be asking all the newby questions where everyone tells me to use the search function
Needs a few bits doing, like MOT, oil leak, exhaust etc, but body and interior seem about the best i've found, certainly best for the price.

Looks like a very clean example
Ask away about anything, but Dave has mentioned the must important thing of all ^^^^
And if that oil leak is at the front its even more important

Re: Just bought a 924S
Oil leak is apparently the oil cooler gaskit, is that a difficult job? I'm a reasonably competant mechanic, but never worked on a Porsche before!
As for the cam belt, it's my intention to get it done at some point before I start using it. My local garage are very good, so I'll be getting them to do it when I MOT it.
The guy selling it has a new (uner 1k miles) Dansk exhaust, and he wants an extra 150 quid for it, is that worth it? Car seems so cheap I think I might as well get it, but don't want to be ripped off! And if I don't get it I'll need an exhaust anyway!
Gonna go and pay for some membership now so I can see the rest of the forum!

Don't we know that car??
Can't place it just now but I'm sure I've seen it before, whichever way it looks really clean

Re: Just bought a 924S
Picked it up today, and all seems as good as it looks! Cam belt was done at 103K, and it's now on 130k so should be ok for a while!
There is some paperwork in the (not insubstantial!) history folder relating to this club, so definately an ex-member (someone called Greg, Member number PO350).
To-do list so far is:
Oil leak fix
Camber adjustment on driver side front wheel as a result of the accident (possibly needs a new hub)
Winscreen strip at the top of the screen is missing
Small bit of rust bubbling on one of the pop-up light covers
Needs a new electric ariel
Nothing particularly taxing I don't think, should have it on the road before too long!

Re: Just bought a 924S
PO350 would make him a previous member of the 924OC, But never the less knew I'd seen it before, IIRC it was side swiped by a BMW in a car park at a fairly slow speed.
Was very well looked after prior to that so you've bought a cracking car IMO

I did get the exhaust for £100, looks brand new!
And Mav you're right, I have the photo of the BMW resting on it!

Re: Just bought a 924S
I knew I wasn't going mad
can tell you for certain then that the car has been pampered, if I'd been looking to buy another 924 I would have bought that one
