Re: New Project
This is true, thats why I'm back on the bitter, had a spell on lager recently just because it so hard to get a decent pint.
Now changed local, bloke who has the pub at the end of the street doesn't have a clue on keeping a good pint, so now its back to a palce I used to drink at years ago who now have 4 hand pulls, Happy Days

Apple wine is now in demijohns and will remain so for the comming months. Had a demijohn left over so decided to give one of these 7 day wine kits a go.

Re: New Project
18% through a still will give you back about 80%.
a realy good still will improve on that.
Mine is 5ft high and takes 25 litres at a time.
after watering it down to a drinkable 40% I have 10 litres of getting smashed liquid.

Re: New Project
We just use a water pruifier, 25 litre mash triple filtered usually returns us about 7 ltrs of 40-45% liquour, add some flavouring and jobs done

Re: New Project
The wine has now cleared nicely and bottled today (15 bottles) just in time for the next batch to go into the demi johns, I couldn't help myself a load more apples carpeted my lawn from next doors trees. Just drank the slightly cloudy bits I didnt want in the bottles and it's not to bat.
As for the 7 day kit I can comfirm I did make alcohol, but it tasted a bit chemically induced as you would probably expect. Not completely undrinkable though.
Beer making equipment on its way for christmas
