This weekend I'll be mostly.....

Today I was mostly going to do some small jobs on the BM but as it was a fine day I decided to rearrange my garage with an old workbench I inherited from work. Very pleased with the outcome, more space, nice and organised and a much bigger bench to do stuff on. Pulled the BM in as the coupe is at the local mechanics. It fits, just.   

Pull the wiper motor out of the wife's fiat and check it and the air horns.

Horns were full of wasp nests and compressor was shot.
Wiper motor has a busted gear and wont turn the output shaft.
Looks like a few dollars as it is a 1972 model and rare as rocking horse poo.

I had water in my rear light which I discovered has developed into a good puddle at the bottom of the battery tray so that's all out to reseal and repaint the tray. There's a tube in the well that looks like it's unplugged but I can't see where from

If your battery has an overflow pipe the tube fits over it so that if the battery overcharges excess acid can flow away and not pool in the tray.   

I seem to drive the Worlds most reliable car at the moment. Of course now I have said that it will undoubtedly implode. I do have a stop/tail bulb to change, that should keep me busy for, oooh, 30 or 40 seconds.

In other news I have a hankering to buy a Chelsea tractor and go offroading. Got a couple lined up to look at, a Mitsubishi Shogun in Nottingham, A V8 Disco in Derby (and a TDi actually) and my current fave is an Isuzu Trooper but it is in Skeg Vegas.

Some cheap 4x4s about, especially thirsty ones!

I'm going to fit a new head unit to the BM. Hopefully it works after my Hermes thought they'd drop it in a puddle before delivering it.


And I was going to fit a new exterior temp sensor but the connector i needed was stolen by the Post Office.

I sometimes have a secret desire to become a courier to deliver to other couriers homes. I would play football with everything and dunk everything down the toilet several times before delivering. This seems to be what they do to me and yet they are strangely unaccountable for the way they treat parcels.
