Today's fit of lunacy
Decided I needed to start the '44 up to give the battery a kick.
1. Brushed the snow off the cover.
2. Peeled the cover back from the bonnet and the exhaust and exposed the driver's door enough to get it.
3. Opened the bonnet to check the water in the radiator expansion tank was still water; it was. Closed the bonnet.
4. Walked around to the driver's side. Inserted key, noted a reading of about 11 volts on the battery gauge.
5. Turned the key...
Nothing.
Turned the key again...
Nothing.
Put the covers back on cursing Porsche, the weather, German engineering and anyone else I could think of.
Went off to Halfords in the trusty old Golf to buy the last of their stock of ultra-concentrate screen wash in perpetration for my run to Scotland. They had 3 1 litre bottles left. Being the caring, sharing sort of chap I am, I bought all of them.
On the way back, hatching plans for jump starting the '44 it suddenly dawned on me that the immobiliser light had been merrily flashing at me from the central console when I tried to start it...
Repeated steps 2, 4 and 5 from above with a new step "4a - disable the immobiliser" and the old girl burst into life with a most satisfactory neighbour-annoying growl.
I suspect it's an age thing

Yep!
Turbo is starting fine (with the jump wire to the coil) . Still to cold to try and fix it!
