Good morning out
Went to the first ever classic Breakfast club meeting at the Brooklands museum in Weybridge today. Pretty good way to spend a few hours ... for £13 you get a decent full English Breakfast and entry to the museum. It is one of those places that has something for everyone. Lots of pre-war racing stuff, loads of airplanes (sat in the pilot seat of a Harrier, a look around the Saltan of Brunai's private DC10 and a peak inside Concorde & a Wellington bomber), a bicycle museum(?!), a London bus museum(????!). Best of all for me, you can walk the remaining 1/4 mile of the old (very) banked race circuit .. awesome venue that H & S would never allow again!
Really British kind of experience ... lots of shed just left open for you to poke around in, not many roped areas (or signs) and all staffed by people who enjoy what they are doing.
Recommend it for anyone who is close enough (breakfast finishes at 9.30a.m!) ... I think they are doing them monthly from now on.

Aw boo! I forgot this was on!
Brooklands is a stunning place, I've always loved visiting it and will be there in a couple of weeks for the Vintage Sports Car Club's New Year Driving Tests day.

I love brooklands, I go every year to the Mini event in March. They change round the museum displays each year, so there's always something new to see.

Never been there as I always thought it was further away than it actually is. If this event is anything like the Breakfast Club at Cosford then it will be well worth a visit. Anyone up for the next one?

19th February... unfortunately that's "red" in my calendar which means "doing the day job"
Re: Good morning out
Went to one back last year and had a great time - would be great to have a mini meet there, the last time I went the 911 club was there too!

Yes... well... see.... those dates follow about a 4 week rotation and my work commitments follow about a 4 week rotation... I can't do the first one because I am working which means... well, I am sure you can see where that goes
Re: Good morning out
I think they have a different additional date for a Mini gathering .... if that floats your boat at all!?
Re: Good morning out
So it's on this weekend at Brooklands, is anyone thinking of heading out there? My mate (he drives a DMC12) and I are thinking of heading over for a bit of brekkie and a few early hours perusing the collection.
