That doesn't surprise me TBH. As cars evolve they tend to get bogged down with emission controls and such, which very often affects the performance.
TBH I would be happy to own any 928. Its one of those childhood dream cars for me. Even though it would now be feasible for me to own one, they still frighten the hell out of me and I would now be scared that the reality wouldn't live up to the dream.

strange thing is I was never a huge fan of the 928 back in the day, was always the 24/44 and the whale tail 911.
But the more I look at them the more I'm starting to like the 28 as the years go by. prefer the look of the later ones, but when you think how long they were in production, Porsche must have got something right!
Still that engine scares the hell out of me!!
