Indy circuit at Brands - was leading the up to 2 litre class at that stage but did not finish as I had a big off at Druids. Lot quicker than the Alfa GTV Bertone and very close with the MR2.

Am out again this year in the Future Classics series run by the CSCC - here is calendar and please come and say hi in the Paddock if anyone can get there. I may also try to do a round or 2 in the 924 Championship.

Welcome along Phil. My race car Icon_cool

Def worth getting along to a race if you can. Me and Chris went along to Snet last year and Phil and his crew made us very welcome. Excellent days entertainment too, and all for £12

You still haven't posted that video of the "off" Phil! Still too painful?

Not a bad idea if we can get someone to post some hints and tips about how to do it, could start off posting in the Projects section and see if there's any interest

I agree a race section is a good idea! But then I would, wouldn't I....

A 924 is a great way to start in racing as apart from parts being relatively cheap, the car itself is well balanced and forgiving. It has more grip than power so is really user friendly. It's also reliable which is the most important thing for club racers as there is nothing worse than travelling a long way to a circuit and not bein able to finish or in some cases even not being able to start.

There is surprisingly little to do Rich. Have a look here

http://www.porscheracingdrivers.co.uk/

The regs will vary from series to series, but its basically all safety related.

Tux

It's got a bit of work done to it, well if I'm honest it's probably only the glass that's standard now. I raced it in 2009 in Classic Touring Cars Pre93's and didn't do too badly.

Back to the topic though. Has anybody looked into other championships that the trusty 924 would be eligable for?

Motor Sport Vision have launched a starter series that we would be eligible for and the costs look good value. It is classed according to power to weight ratio which I think is a good idea rather than just engine capacity. I think the 924 would be competitive in this.
