Re: New toy.
I started fixing the electrics (rust hole water damage). Every time I fixed a bit something else stoped working. So I gave up and bought a new car
Seriously I have been looking for a tidy 944 for a while and didnt think I could afford an S then this one cropped up on ebay again.
There is a job list developing starting with the clutch.................

Re: New toy.
Clutch? Ouch! Quite doable at home, but not terribly pleasant I'm afraid, or quite expensive to get done by a "pro".
Anyway, come on Chris, keep the picture whores happy!

Re: New toy.
Have to agree its been long enough, pics now please!!!!
Clutch is a pig but only because of the time that has to go into it, box needs to be dropped so you can get the TT back far enough.
Or if you can weld and you're a little mad you can cot the spare wheel well out then weld it back in, I've seen that done before!!

Re: New toy.
As a matter of interest has anyone used a 22 year old uninflated space saver?
Will a full size wheel go in the wheel well ?

Re: New toy.
I'm guessing it will fit in the well but the boot carpet is diffrent. Saying that if it is the car I think it is you might want to be changing that anyway

Re: New toy.
As Gareth says you'd have to change the boot carpet, but you might struggle even then, it would have to be from a 944 in order for it sit properly over the wheel, '44s have 16" wheels as standard and all '24s came with 15" even the S has smaller teledails than the '44 version.
Those spacesavers are run flat solids and are just there to get you home, but if you are sticking with 16" wheels and can find a carpet then the asnwer is YES

Re: New toy.
Looks great though Chris, nearly bought one with a burgandy interior before I ended up with the one I have.
Gearbox noise will very likely be sorted by an oil change, sunroof is likely just the plastic cogs.
Only big job really is the clutch

Re: New toy.
Me thinks that shinny new 944 of yours needs to go to the Ring.. plenty of places left on Porscheball you know.
