heres my toofah with tow bar down in spain
well heres my new toy,the sorry looking black 924 with tow bar...lol.sunburn black but has no rust, but the top end of the engine rattles a bit? no smoke from exhaust even when cold.think it has done only 90k but has not been used for 5-10 years. do you all think a oil change and good service could quieten down the top end,are the cam followers hydrolic?
and heres the 944,thats allmost sold to a good mate, its got about 280k miles on it but has a folder with 10 grand worth of repairs in the last 15 years including new head, the engine is sweet.its not been used for 2 years(or cleaned) but very little rust.
any hints and tips for reccomisioning the 24 are wellcome.
cheers john.

not much a bit of elbow grease wont fix - would suggest draining and flushing the fuel system if the black ones not run for over 5 years - poss the fuel will be dead, along with a good service replacing all the fluids filters etc, should run ok

Followers aren't hydraulic, but can be adjusted.

Pretty much what Chris says ^^^, never going to be that quite or refined whatever you do.
20/50 supermarket oil is your friend on that one, don't even think about using modern oils it won't like it.
As its bee said a full flush and change of all fluids and it should be go

Don't put to much faith in the Haynes "book of lies" as its not terribly reliable. Treat it as a starting guide at best!

Best way of course
I think I still have a link to a better manual than haynes, if I can find it is it OK for me to email it to the email address you registered with?

Def the best option - got a manual at home i brought when i got mine - being used to mop up split oil at the moment
Anything technical - " we reckomend your nearest specialist porsche dealer to do this work "!
