this made me *wee wee* myself
Following a few 'non-starters' and being let down by some other venues, The Committee and National Rally Organiser are delighted to announce the 2010 National Rally of The Porsche 924 Owners Club will be held on Sunday 22nd August at The Heritage Motor Museum, Gaydon, Warwickshire.
There will also be activities arranged Saturday 21st August for those that wish to make a full weekend. More information will be posted throughout this and the coming weeks as our plans are finalised.
We hope you can mark this date in your diaries and we look forward to seeing as many members as possible at what we hope to be our best National Rally so far.....
We are sorry the plans could not be announced sooner but as they say 'the best things come to those who wait'
so for a national rally they are visiting a museum.. wtf. 20 924's on the car park. and a walk around the museum..

So that will be like the AGM year afore last, but without the model aircraft show then?
Bostin!
Ah well, its up to them I suppose, though I can't help thinking I might feel a little disappointed if I were still a member.

I am a little as I would have expected a show, but as I have never been there before it will still be a nice day out.

Re: this made me *wee wee* myself
Well we have been twice with the 924 owners club. you will park on the car park not a stand. and then walk around what i would say is the smallest motor museum in the country. and it costs £15 to get in. food is sooo expensive there. Your parked on tarmac so you can put anything up. there no members of the public passing and looking at your cars. Who going to vote for the car of the show? The new committee are tring to change everything (why i don't know) it was not broken so why fix it.. To be honest its going to make our national the one to be at. Good for a meet, not good for a National.. Think they are tring to be TIPEC. They hold their national there but they get at least 500 cars and 1,000 of people turn up. 20 to 25 cars on the back end of the car park is not going to be the same. The club is not big enough to have a stand alone national. i think some committee members are suffering delusions of grandure!

Re: this made me *wee wee* myself
seams they are deactivating anyone who does not pay up. you can't be just a forum member anymore. all you posts if your not a full member have to be acepted by admin!!! they will kill the club. Fools
Re: this made me *wee wee* myself
I suspect that the main shows (as we know ) are already booked up so you are really fishing around this late on. Now don't get me wrong ... Gaydon is interesting but only in a 25 minute kind of way. Should someone tell them they should hire a room for £120 and get free entry to the museum for eveyone . Had Dave or Rob have organised this for the National I think they would be taking flack by now!!

Thanks Steve I do believe Rob and I do have slightly more sense than to try to pass that one off as a National, but as you say most of the other shows will now be booked up. Roll on Sandwell.

"The Committee and National Rally Organiser"
WTF's all that about 5 min phone call could have sorted that out, took a whole committee and a "National Rally Organiser" to do it.
Sounds more like a social club committee.
Sad to see what was a great club end up like this, but they've no one to glame but themselves.
As its been said, roll on Sandwell, only 6 weeks away

PAUL EVERYONE THAT GOES TO THE SHOWS AS MOVED HERE ANYWAY. i give them 6 months before it all implodes.. They now only have just over 100 paid up members (over 250 last year) as of today we have 64 paid up members, (in less than 3 months) we will soon pass them anyway. onwards and upwards..
