Past Loves
Come on guys, we have all owned a car at some point that we wished we had never sold, so lets see 'em.
This was the Jag that I owned waaay back when I was 19. Series 1 XJ6. The baby of the bunch as it was only a 2.8

Re: Past Loves
Ah, mine is in my Avatar. Bought the 1.9GTI in 93 when I got divorced (1st time!). Scraped every last penny together to buy it and run up the credit card bill to insure it (£1200p/a). Then had a thatcham alarm fitted, the best 3 spoke alloys ever, a red and black leather steering wheel and CD stacker in the boot .... another £1500 all in.
I think I finished paying for it just before Christmas
I keep thinking about getting another but are these things ever as good as you remember?!

One of mine was a 1.3 Triumph Acclaim. Rubbish car but it was the first 5 speed car I had and the seats had sagged in such a way it was like driving around in your favorite arm chair.

But this is how it all started back in 1986, with this 1977 car that looked 'cool' in the garage, and they gave me £700 for my Austin Princess !!! lol

Re: Past Loves
The one I really miss believe it or not is my '87 XR2, was in the darker metallic blue, think parissienne was lighter one can't remember then name of the colour now.
Bought it 5 years old with 29k on the clock!!, virtually immaculate, sold it when I moved abroad in '93 to a mate at work, who then wrapped it 'round a tree a month later

Zircon Blue? I had a mark 2 Deuce myself for a very short while. They are fun and surprisingly capable cars. Have you seen the price of decent ones (or more stupidly Mark 1's) nowadays? They are going the same way as Escorts.

Sounds like you at least got your moneys worth out of the insurance!

Re: Past Loves
Could have been Pete, still trying to find a list of colour options from '87, seem to remember it being a longer name than that, I bought a touch up stick from a Ford Dealer thats long gone or I would have tried there.
Must have been something of a rare colour not seen a pic of ones for years

Sorry mate, didn't mean it to do that. To try & make you feel a bit better, just remeber my words on the day, "give it some stick, take it to the red line!"

The one of the 2 cars is certianly a contender for next years, you should scan and post that article Pete, not everyone will remember that
