Re: Meeting points for Cumbria this Sunday..
Have to say Sunday was just a warm up for the rain yesterday [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] I was out for 6 hours and it didn't stop once and I couldn't see more than 10 yards all day! Just had to Google my walk to find out what I missed:
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
For the interested ... peaks (nearest first) are Yoke, Ill Bell, Frostwick and around the corner to Thornywaite and Mardale Ill bell. They are all quite low at about 2500ft but each one drops 500ft from the summit which you then have to reclimb on the next peak.

Re: Meeting points for Cumbria this Sunday..
sounds like the Kentmere Horseshoe Steve, really shame about the weather though.
IIRC from when I did that walk with my Dad many years ago you can see right down to Haweswater halfway round.
In fact here a short story about that walk..
I was bivvywacking with the Air Cadets down from Nan Bield Pass at small water.
Forgot my Torch under the rock I was sleeping under, gave my Dad description of ther location, next day we was going up there to do the horseshoe and found it

Quite right Paul! I didn't do the return leg of the horseshoe though and exited via Nan bield. Weather is not all bad for me as I suffer badly from vertigo and about 1/2 mile of the path was a yard from a 2500ft drop. My vertigo seems quite content with 'what you can't see can't hurt you' [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

I must be getting senile. I could have sworn I spotted Lord Lucan in one of those photo's! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Same here. First time I went across Crib Goch it was thick fog and it was fine. the second time was a lovely fine day and it scared the *poo* out of me [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Did like to say but I am starting to worry!
So long as I don't start looking at V6 Audi and liking them I should be OK Dave
