Finally home........ Empty Finally home........

Post by Monkeymagic Sat 09 Oct 2010, 17:34

after probley the worst shift u could have,
Was on radio comms and as soon as my butt hit the seat, Avon and Somerset police gave us news of a fatal RTC and both carriageways needed shutting
Did not know who was where, who was already out on patrol so mad panic to get crews deployed.
At home now having a cuppa and winding down.

No matter how hard it is for the emergency services, u got to feel sorry for the poor blokes family.

That must be pretty harrowing, I really don't know how ambulance / police / fire deal with stuff like that on a daily basis.

Agreed. Gotta be the absolute worst part of the job. Quickly makes you put the "easy" shifts when not much happens into context I reckon.

Strange thing bout it was the driver had an accident on the northbound but then for some reason, got out the car and ran accross the northbound and jumped over the barrier on to the southbound where he was hit by 4 other vehs.

Feel sorry for the drivers of the cars that hit him, think that would put me off driving for a while
