Just down the road from my work is an old Industrial Unit. To look at it you'd think it had been empty for a few years.

Passed there the other day & the doors were open & out in the yard were these...

You all know what they are.......MR2's in Italian Suits....but what a nice job they are making of them!

This is one they're working on now...

The white one in the top pic is supercharged & the fit & finish is excellent.

If its classed as a kit car, then they are legally obliged to wear a Q plate now. I Would Drive One of These Icon_cry

MR2's make the best Ferrari look-a-like, but I still couldn't own one. Imo, only someone who is desperate to impress others would buy one of those.

Just out of interest, have you got close enough to look at the interior? I once saw one that looked like a convincing Ferrari from the outside, yet still had the standard Toyota interior.

Not anymore. Dvla abolished the q plate about 5 years ago. I Would Drive One of These Icon_biggrin

It will not be classed as a kit as it has the original running gear and chassis and would not need an SVA test. I Would Drive One of These Carservice

As Robs rightly says the Q system is long gone now, simply age related plate, plus if its just a body swap and the engine and chassis are still the same then it can run on the original plate
