Re: I've got my first "S"
Managed to get a couple of hour to myself today so did a few bits & bobs on the "S".
Changed oil & filter, new plugs, new air filter, changed brake fluid, changed coolant, tried some Stop leak in the power steering (will let you know how that goes).
Was going to change gearbox / diff oil but haven't got the right tool to remove drain & filler plugs . I'll knock something up at work. Looks like I'm going to need lots & lots of WD 40 to shift the plugs.
While I was under the car I notice the middle box of the exhaust has a big hole & one of the seams has rusted away (thought it sounded throaty). Not going to spend any money on a new box, going to cut it out & put a straight through Stainless pipe in (got some at work ).

Only change all the fluids, etc, because it was hard to tell from the receipts when they were last done.
I will say that what came out was nice & clean so prob wasn't done too long ago. Still, it's all nice & fresh now. Just the gear box to do.

But not today with all this snow!! bloody weather. Did all the fluids on the tomcat this week. don't think they had been done for about 10 years, the oil was really bad!
Re: I've got my first "S"
Deffo not today, looking like next weekend (if I get some more time to myself).
Hope to be having a go at the interior swap next weekend too.

Re: I've got my first "S"
i 've got to go to Wembley next weekend with Vile fans!!! should be going to RAF Stafford every day this week as well, looks fun if we have the snow promised. You coming to donny in the new 's' ?
Re: I've got my first "S"
Thats the plan (still working on it ).
As its "Dad & Daughter" day I've asked Vicky if she wants to come. Typical for an 11 year old, can't make her mind up.

Re: I've got my first "S"
But you are just plain wierd Paul!
Car lo0ks great Pete. Gutted I didn't chase it myself now. Especially as its in a proper colour.
I have gearbox drain keys if you need them. Can post them out to you if needs be. Keep soaking with PlusGas until you do it and I'll wager you still need to use heat to get the damn things out! Having said that, mine came out without any trouble at all, so I can only assume that it had been domne recently. Gallons of copper grease when they went back in!
Oh and one last tip, though I'm sure you already know, avoid getting the oil on you or your clothes as it stinks. Bad. And it lives with you for a week!
