Re: I've got my first "S"
Thanks to my new Best Mate, Tux, I've now got the tools to have a go at my gearbox.
Most of you will prob know this tip but just in case....Always, always take out the filler plug first because if you remove the drain plug then can not get the filler plug out, you're left with an empty gearbox that you can't get oil into....

Re: I've got my first "S"
I thought we could carry on with the girly name theme. The first was Gladys, then we had Helga so alphebetically we should go with an I.
How about Ingrid or with a German theme Inger?

I think Pete secretly enjoys this. He seems to keep coming back for more all the time!

"I think Pete put's up with this..." now, that's closer to the mark
Re: I've got my first "S"
Took Ingrid (see, started calling her that already ) to work yesterday to give her a bit of a run-out, only a couple of miles either way, only to find on my way home there was a terrible scrapping noise coming from the front off side wheel.
It was too dark last night to investigate so remove the wheel this morning to find this...
...& the cause was this...
...just another thing I've got to replace when funds / time allows

Re: I've got my first "S"

Re: I've got my first "S"
Just throw them away. They don't serve any critical purpose anyway, just help to keep a few stones away from the discs.
Is the wheel OK?

I used to get a terrible whine from mine but it stopped when I left the wife at home.
